let's write a lil bit about rush poker, patented by fulltiltpoker.
RUSH Poker;
Makes poker faster, more dynamic, less boring and o yea did I mention it's Hella FAST?
positives would be that you win your money quicker, 135seat sng takes about 2/2,5 hours to win, IF you win.
that's the whole problem with rush poker, it's fast, no time to study opponents. And even if you Had time, there's no static table like In a normal game, so you will have to recall 135 players and playing styles. Virtually impossible. In other words, you lose a bit of your edge to read people. (being a good player vs bad players)
So the only way to play rush is to purely play the cards you're dealt.
Pretty much straight forward beginner poker.
an advantage of rush poker is that people like to press autofold, giving you more blind steal opportunities.
Also, when an opponent decides to play a hand instead of auto/quick fold, they usually wanna get to a showdown if they hit at least one pair. So when you have a big hand, bet big; they will probably pay you off out of boredom, ar just cuz they're just too curious.
when you feel you are up against a bluffer, checking to him twice, or even 3 times (so also the river) will make him bet 100% guaranteed.
If you do this, be shure to reraise allin!!
He will never put you on the nuts after checking all the way, also the river.
Rush poker is just more of a gamble than regular tables.
you gotta hit your hands more often to make stack, because big bluffs are pretty much out of the question in a low buyin rush poker tournament.
It can be profitable, but definately not more than regular poker.
If however, you are a beginning player that has not a lot more knowledge about the game than the rules, rush poker has pretty much only benefits.
